- You can identify minerals by looking at their hardness or color. These are its properties.
- A streak test tell you the color of a mineral.
- You rub a mineral on a white tile to see what color the powder leaves behind.
- A scratch test tells you how hard a mineral is.
- You rub minerals against each other to see if one can scratch the other.
- A hardness of 1 is the softest, and a hardness of 10 is the hardest.
- Wind, water, and ice can all cause weathering and erosion.
- Weathering is when the rocks are broken into smaller pieces.
- Erosion is when those pieces are carried away.
- Loam is the best soil to grow plains in and is found on most farms
