I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break!
Thursday Papers:
Starting next week, all papers will be sent home every Thursday. This includes graded papers and PTA papers. We are trying to make it easier for you to know when to look for important information. Your child will still need to check their folder each night because of their homework.
Reading – We have started our poetry and drama unit. The kids had a lot of fun today sharing the poems that they found. We are making a collection of favorite poems in our classroom so I told the kids that they can continue to bring in printed poems or poems that they have written themselves.
Math – We started our geometry unit this week. We will continue to have multiplication quizzes each Friday so please continue to practice multiplication facts.
Writing – Our new unit is persuasive/opinion writing. We asked the kids to be thinking this weekend about different topics that they are passionate about to use as their topics. We asked them to think of topics that are not just school related.
Science– We began studying Fossils this week. All the students have their vocabulary words glued in their interactive notebooks and they made flashcards this week.
