Book Fair Preview – Friday, November 13
Book Fair Buying – Monday, November 16
Thanksgiving Lunch – Wednesday, November 18 (please note that if you are sending in money that money is for you to eat. Students will pay in the lunchroom using the computers as usual.)
Reading – We will be finishing our study on fables, folktales, and myths. We will have our test for this unit on Wednesday, November 11. Students do have a study guide in their reading books. We will complete the study guide on Monday.
Writing – We will be focused on informational writing for the next several weeks. Students have decided to write a book on a topic that they believe they are experts on. This week we focused on including our ideas into the writing and not just facts. We also discussed elaborating our ideas. Yesterday we sent home an exemplar writing sample. This is what your child’s writing should look like by the end of this unit. It was on a yellow piece of paper.
Math – Our test is this Monday, November 9!!!!!! Students can study one of three ways – 1. Math notebook 2. Study guide (in your child’s binder) 3. Using the PowerPoint under the math homework section of this website.
Social Studies – Students have LOVED watching the economics video the past few days. We will continue to work with this unit for the next couple weeks. We will have an economics vocabulary quiz on Wednesday, November 11. A list of the words and definitions under the Social Studies homework section of this website.
