Reminders:
We made it through ITBS!! Yay! The kids did great – we will be getting scores back before winter break.
Next Week – Red Ribbon Week
Reading – We will be continuing our study on fables, folktales, and myths. We will be focused on the theme of the stories and the lesson that the story is trying to teach. We will also be looking at how to summarize what we are reading.
Writing – We will be focused on informational writing for the next several weeks.
Math - Next week we will be focusing on division. We will start by teaching repeated subtraction and by drawing pictures to solve division problems. Please continue to practice multiplication facts at home. We will have our quiz on 7s and 8s on Friday, October 30.
Social Studies – Our next unit is Economy. We will be starting this unit on Tuesday.
GAT Day – Third grade will be starting our “GAT” program on Monday. This Monday, students will be creating a school store. We will be interviewing students in different grades to determine which items students would like to see in a school store. We will then graph our results, determine how much we would need to sell each item for in order to make a profit, and create a “business plan” to show to Mrs. Robson.
