Here are a few reminders to make your first week of school run smoothly:
- Get ready for school the night before. Pick out what you are going to wear and have all your things ready to go Sunday night. I can't wait to see some of your cute "first day of school" outfits! :)
- Go to bed early. I know this is a tough one, especially since we've been staying up later and sleeping in each morning, but you can do it! Getting lots of sleep is important so you will come to school ready to learn.
- Eat breakfast. You can always buy breakfast in the cafeteria if you don't have enough time.
- Make sure you know how you're getting home. This is super important! If you ride the bus, know your bus number.
- Pack a healthy snack. Please make sure you have a healthy snack to eat during our morning snack time. Please NO drinks for snack (except water). You may eat your snack whenever you would like in the morning, so if you are hungry before our official snack time, go ahead and eat! I know I have a hard time focusing if I'm hungry, so I don't want you to have trouble because of this. If you get hungry in the afternoon, too, bring a snack for that time as well! Sugary snacks can make you sleepy and make it hard to concentrate, so please DO NOT pack cookies, sweets, or candy as snack.
- Bring a water bottle. Studies show that students who say well hydrated (drink lots of water) while at school are better able to stay focused.
- Make a routine. This is very important! Have a place in your house where you will do your homework each night, where important school papers go, a time your parents will check your agenda, homework, or Take-home Folder.
- Specials. Make sure you know which days you will go to PE so you can wear your tennis shoes.
But the most important reminder of all--BE EXCITED!! This year is going to be a blast!! See you on Monday!
